Hope everyone is well and coping OK with Lockdown 3.
Please remember if anyone is struggling or just needs to talk please don’t hesitate to contact myself.

Please find below general club news that has been put together by Andy Catton plus minutes of the Essex AA AGM.

……………………………………………………

Well we managed two Chingford League competitions under COVID restriction rules which were well organised and enjoyed by all participants. But now with the imposition of tier 4 in our region it looks as if return to any other competition may not be until April.

Essex AA made plans for under 20 xc champs and under 18 indoor champs but both had to be cancelled.
Almost certainly xc relays will also be cancelled.
Will advise re Essex 20 miles asap.
Southern, Inter Counties and National xc all cancelled.
In addition club 10m xc champs and open race and xc handicap cancelled.
Cricklefields now closed again until further notice.

Coaching of under 18 athletes in groups still allowed under strict COVID safety precautions and subject to travel restrictions. But adult training is limited to meeting one other person outdoors.

Congratulations to Bill on being voted London Region Volunteer of the Year runner-up.

Following resignations, retirement or no longer being with us there are 4 vacancies on Essex AA committee for general members (club representatives). Plus urgent need for the roles of Track & Field Secretary and Trophy Secretary.

Southern League – provisional match dates Sat 22 May, Sun 20 June, Sun 11 July, Sat 14 Aug, Sat 11 Sept.

Entering young athletes league being considered on a combined club basis.

Repairs to track surface at Cricklefields in budget with Vision for 2021. Still pushing for timing on this as cracks now getting dangerous plus would prevent us holding any home league match until repairs are done (and re-marked lanes etc).
All other “refurbishment” or the development of the stadium on hold.

Guess there is a strong potential that we will still be in some form of COVID lockdown restrictions in March so will need to make plans for a virtual AGM.
Essex AA held AGM utilising Microsoft Teams. Not as inter active or productive as we would normally expect but better than nothing.
Copy Essex AGM minutes attached for anyone interested.

Billy
