Hi folks,
It’s on again

Wednesday 22nd November 7.30pm-for-7.45pm start. Again at The Bekash Tandoori Restaurant, 70 Victoria Road, Romford. RM1 2LA. Pre-meal drinks at “The Moon and Stars”/Wetherspoons, 99-103 South Street, Romford (in the next street) from 6pm-to-7.30pm-“ish”. There’s parking nearby in side streets and in front of the restaurant itself. Also parking’s permitted in front of ARCO Plumbers, Havering Christian Bookshop, and a Sub-Post Office opposite. If using public transport The Bekash is 5 minutes’ walk from Romford Station (local trains run beyond midnight) and buses serving many local destinations pass Romford Station (also running beyond midnight) with 3 routes operating night services. Walking between Wetherpoons & The Bekash is 10 minutes.

For an idea of price, we book Wednesday as it’s “Banquet Night” with a special deal for £14.95p (unchanged from 2022), offering (1) pompadums, (2) any starter, (3) any main dish (King Prawns £2 extra), (4) any rice (alternative nan) and (5) a side dish. As in previous years we’ll add 10% for service (which is good). We’ll add to our bill drinks (nobody in the past has overdone that), so it’ll again be shared by all. In any case alcoholic & non-alcoholic prices are near identical in restaurants. The Bekash offers a range of beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks – and has “Cobra” & “Kingfisher” on draught!

Change : Proprietor Solly Ahmed recently retired and sold the business. A new team is in place – headed by Emz and Azad. However the Head Chef has stayed on

Booking : please contact Dave Ainsworth on 01708-377382 (Voicemail available if out), on 07712-960722 (voice or text) or email : dave_ainsworth@yahoo.co.uk

No need for money up front – please settle in cash (preferred) on-the-night. “Banquet Night” is popular, so advance bookings are required. I took over after long standing organiser Gerry Pells R.I.P. stood down – I moved it to Romford and 9 attended. Every year since we’ve had over 20 dining (most was 26). Last year we had 22, so many know what this restaurant is like. If you’ve not been before, you can check it out on www.bekashromford.co.uk

As in the past 2 years, it’s open to all, plus your family members and guests. All welcome – to continue our long tradition.

Bookings are now open. Wednesday 22nd November at 7.30pm-for 7.45pm start.
