Braintree and District Athletics Club are pleased to welcome you to Great Notley Country Park as we host the latest Essex Cross Country League races.
Information follows to help you on the day.

Address: Great Notley Country Park, Great Notley, Essex, CM77 7FS
Directions: The park is only accessible from the north bound dual carriageway A131 towards the A120 (Braintree).
If coming from Chelmsford area, when you go over the roundabout at Tesco’s the entrance is on your left a few hundred metres away. If approaching from A120 (Braintree) then follow the dual carriage way A131 .
You will pass the park on your right-hand side but you need to turn back on yourself at the next roundabout (Tesco’s).
Our event follows the usual Saturday morning Park run so the car park may be quite busy as people come and go.
Parking: For ecological, financial and space reasons please try to car share. We cannot get a concession on the parking fees. Car parking is by ANPR cameras and payment can be made at the machines before you leave. The summer overflow car park will not be open.
It is possible to park for free on the Great Notley housing estate (but don’t say I said) and walk through the underpass adjacent to the park. If you choose to do this please park considerably. There is also free parking at Tesco’s (subject to usual conditions so please check this if you choose to park there) If you do choose to park at Tesco there is a crossing by the roundabout which is opposite a pedestrian entrance to the park. Please do not walk along the dual carriageway.
Country Park Parking charges are as follows:
Up to 30 minutes £1
Up to 1 hour £2.20
Up to 2 hours £3.50
Up to 3 hours £5
Over 3 hours £6.50
The race schedule is as follows:
10:30am – Under 13 Boys and Girls (approx. 3km)
11:00am – Under 15 Boys and Girls (approx. 4km)
11:30am – Under 17 and Under 20 Women (approx. 5km)
Noon – Senior Women and Under 17 Men (approx. 6.5km)
12:45pm – Senior Men (approx. 8km)
Following the unacceptable behaviour of a small number of runners at the Writtle University fixture in October can you please remind your runners that they must use the toilets at the venue.
