Dear All

Earlier this week the 2021 Regional Council elections opened and anyone wanting to serve as a regional councillor and represent athletics and running in their part of the country can download and submit their nomination for one of the available seats in their region. The nomination period is open until Monday 22 February and any clubs wanting to promote the opportunity to their members through their channels can click here to download forms and promotional images/text from the MarketingHub. Club Development Workshops added

We have added 6 workshops to the Club Support section of our Athletics & Running @Home pages. The workshops will be jointly delivered by Sport England and focus on volunteer experience, participant experience and engaging your local communities. The first workshop takes place on 13 March and places are limited on these interactive sessions so book early to avoid disappointment. More details can be found by clicking here

All the webinars highlighted last week are still available on the same pages with the competition update session taking place first on 24 February

Time To Listen and Club Disputes

We have set up 5 new Time to Listen courses that are taking place throughout February and March…dates and times are below and booking details can be found by clicking here

Saturday 20th February 2021: 9:30am-12:30pm
Monday 22nd February 2021: 6pm-9pm
Split Course – Wednesday 3rd March 6:30-7:30pm and Wednesday 10th March 6:30-8:30pm *
Saturday 6th March 2021 9:30am-12:30pm
Monday 8th March 2021 6pm-9pm

Whilst we all love the sport of Athletics, there will inevitably be times when problems and disputes may arise. This can be a challenging time and stressful for the volunteers involved. To Support clubs we have set up a Club Disputes Forum to support committee members who will be involved. This session will give you the opportunity to:

Consider what measures can be put in place in a club environment to help prevent disputes occurring
Identify methods to tackle common challenges through shared experiences and case study examples
Reflect on your own policies and practices used

Club Finance and Fundraising Guide

You may have noticed last week that a number of focus groups have been set up to understand what resources clubs would benefit from and explore options to ensure these are developed in the best format. Whilst we are working with clubs to look at this we will continue to develop and expand our existing resource bank. This week we have launched a Club Finance and Fundraising Guide which can be found on the resource section of our website www.englandathletics.org/resources/category/club-finance/ We hope this is useful, but any feedback on this or the other resources available please send them direct to club support.
