Andy Catton had a Essex AA Exec Zoom meeting on Monday.
Below is an update on what is going on (or rather not going on) in the County

1. As reported last month anyone who has entered the Essex T & F Champs will be getting a refund of their entry fee (less the entry company admin fee). However, the IT entry company currently not responding.

2. 5k and 10k track champs scheduled for 10 June & 8 July are now postponed. If by any chance we are back in competition action by August the 5,000m track champs will be held during the “Miles of Miles” meeting at Chelmsford on Sunday 8th August. CV 19 situation and guidance on athletics meetings will be subject of on-going review and other races postponed if necessary.

3. The track relays scheduled for 26th June have been cancelled.

4. 2020 road Grand Prix on hold. If we are all back in race action by September the next Essex Road Champs will be Pleshey Half Marathon on SAT 19th Sept. Followed by Chelmsford 10k on 15th November.
All other races between now and Sept have been cancelled.
The Essex 10 mile champs now provisionally included in the Tiptree 10 on 11th October
The Essex 5 mile champs now provisionally included in the Witham Boxing Day 5 on 26th December.

A few IAC follow up points

Martin confirmed ELVIS series cancelled for 2020.
Individual race organisers will no doubt advise as and when they can if any race in the programme is allowed to take place CV19 permitting.
Competition ban in place until 1st July so Hilly 5 scheduled for 15 July is extremely doubtful. Cannot see that we would get race permit of Council permission in time and would have to be entry on the night.
Will review by end of May as to whether we can or wish to postpone.

London Marathon re-scheduled for 4th October, but current “insider” feedback is that at best it will be an elite race only.
