Press Report 5th May 2025

Hitchin 10k,
Sunday 3rd May 2026

Mungo Prior was Ilford’s sole entry in the Hitchin 10k. Having completed a
very good recent training block, Mungo had decided to make his debut over
10k.
The race was over an undulating one lap course, starting and finishing in
the centre of Hitchin. Mungo made a positive start and was up with the
leading group as they left the town centre. Onto the undulating hills the
group split up quite quickly and by 5k Mungo and the eventual 3rd place
finisher were clear.

Around 7k, Mungo made a decisive surge, which enabled to cross the line in
first place in a time of 33.22, which places him 36th on Ilford Men’s all
time 10k list.
