Essex Championships 5000m and 1 Mile
Chelmsford

This week, Chelmsford hosted the Essex Track Championships for both the Mile and 5,000m distances.

In the 5,000m Malcolm Muir gained Silver in the V50 grouping with a time of 17 mins 41.1 Secs. Anna Crawley also achieved a Silver medal in the Senior ladies competition, with a time of 19 mins 39.9 seconds which was a personal best for the distance on the track.

Malcolm Muir achieved his second County medal of the week, coming back 4 days later to earn a Bronze medal in his age grouping over the Mile distance, finishing in 5 mins 10.4 seconds.

Finsbury Park Half Marathon

Two Ilford AC athletes took part in the Finsbury Park Half Marathon during the week, hosted by Run Through.

On a sweltering hot evening Sean Costello came home in 2:19:23 and Ramen came home in 2:54:06. Both men were 2^nd place in their age grouping on the day
