ESSEX 20 MILE CHAMPIONSHIPS
Debden Airfield
Sunday 15th March

The Essex 20 mile Championships was held at the disused airfield at Debden
Airfield..
The race consisted of 5 fast 4-mile laps around the perimeter and included
an open event, which attracted many entries from those preparing for the
spring marathon season.

Ilford AC had 9 men in the event, led by Sam Rahman in 52nd place with a
time of 2:06:09. Sam was closely followed by Tomas Krukauskas in 56th place
with a time of 2:06:52. The three-person team, which placed 6th on the day
was completed by Chris King, who finished in 61st place with a time of
2:08:17

Also in action for the club were Malcolm Muir 103rd, 2:18:03, Dyfan Garmon
112th 2:19.00, Terry Knightley 194th 2:33:55, Steve Chissell 195th 2:34:19,
Tarik Qirem 215th 2:37:53 and Bradley Brown 256th 2:44:49

Individually Ilford AC won 2 County championship medals: Steve Chissell won
a Bronze medal in the M60 grouping, while Terry Knightley also won a Bronze
county medal in the M65 grouping
