Essex Half Marathon Champs 2026

The Essex Half Marathon Championship was once again held in conjunction with the Pleshey Half Marathon from the picturesque village over a rolling route through the Essex countryside. Ilford AC had 11 runners in the event and came away with three Essex medals.
First home was Richard Morris in 21^st place in 1:20:04 with the team completed by Christopher King 26^th in 1:21:53 and Malcolm Muir 40^th in 1:25:44
Medallists on the day were Dave Thomas Silver M65 1:33:14, Steve Chissell Silver M60 1:38:50 AND Julia Galea Bronze F70 2:35:51
Also completing the course on the day were Danny Holeyman 1:27:07, Richard Woolterton 1:28:08, Dyfan Garmon 1:28:10, Terry Knightley 1:39:31 and Dannielle Thomas 1:49:51

Other Half Marathons at the weekend included the Vilnius Half Marathon in Lithuania where Neringa Aidietyte ran 1:35:09 and closer to home in the Great North Run Amin Kokai ran 1:23:27 and Anthony Young, running his 11^th consecutive GNR came home in 2:05:38
