EYAL Barnet
A smaller than usual team of Ilford AC athletes competed in the final young athletes fixture held at the magnificent Stonex stadium, home of Saracens Rugby Club
U14 girls began with D.L. Majen-Akande in the 100m recording a PB of 16.99s and following that up with with a good run of 3.05m in the 800m
Teammate Jiya Gill made her 1500m debut in a very high standard field. Jiya performed admirably clocking 6.35.85m
Debutant Emeila Myslowska performed brilliantly in her events, a great throw of 18.69m earned her an excellent 4th place which she followed up with a brilliant series of throws in the javelin, event culminating in a best effort of 29.63m to clinch a great second place.
U14B
Competition is high for sprint places in this age group and the loss of star athlete Daniel Okereke shortly before the event gave sn opportunity to debutant sprinter Asher Adu-Ntow who really rose to the occasion with victories in both the 100m and 200m clocking 12.65s and 25.77s respectively
Teammate Kyelan Brian continued his recent good form with 13.62 in 100m and 28.10 in 200m
Daniel Nzurike completed the sprint events with 13.73s in the 100m and 28.14s in the 200m before earning a great 4th spot in the Shot putt with a distance of 7.16m
Another U14 was newcomer Luke Adams who ran a very well judged and impressive 1500m debut. Luke controlled his race brilliantly to earn a great second spot with a time of 5.02.50m
Ever reliable A.H. Mullings-Roache produced jumps of 1.40m in High jump and 4.68m in long jump. Both Jumps were below A.J.s usual performances but he has had a fantastic season winning County medals and an Essex County representative vest
U16G
Dara Daramola started events with 14.32s in the 100m 28.35s in 200m then followed these with a PB performance in the Discus with a distance of 24.87m
Jordan Pellius-Bastien ran an excellent 100m of 13.69s to gain a brilliant second place which she followed up with a long jump of 4.48m earning her 4th position
Gabriela Boohene gained Z new PB in the 100m clocking 14.88s
Alicia Adams emulated younger brother Luke with a fine, determined run in the 1500m against high quality opposition Alicia was just short of her best time finishing in 6th place with an encouraging time of 6.12.13m
U16 stalwart and star athlete Gloria Ananwa produced another PB in the 200m clocking 27.20s for second place, which was even more impressive as she had earlier completed the gruelling 300m in 46.01s
Fellow sprinter Iyimide Owolabi also recorded a PB in 200m with a time of 35.23s
Alexandra Kyriakidu continued to impress with her willingness to compete in unfamiliar events for thd sake of the team . Alex recorded PB s of 51.74 in 300m and 2.91m in long jump. A distance Of 6.42m in the Shot putt earned more valuable points for the team
Another reliable athlete Sofia Crane , who has also competed for older age groups as well as helping out as a volunteer, had another successful day of competition with a PB of 9.96m in the Discus and marks of 22.87 in the Hammer and 4.45m in the Shot putt.
The 4x100m relay team of Dara, Gloria, Jordan and Gabriela recorded a time of 52.93s for a valuable 3rd place
U16 Boys
Max Andrews continued his breakthrough season with 12.31s in the 100m. 5.64m in Long jump and a PB equalling height of 1.75m
Anu Ogunjide continued his good form recording 13.24s for 100m and 26.65s in 200m
Toye Oguntoye helped the team cause with valuable points in the 300m with an impressively controlled victory time of 40.28s
and a time of 12.69s in 100m
Barney Perkins had a rare appearance in the 800m earning third place in 2.21.29m and followed this with a PB of 6.83m in the 4kg Shot putt.
Aryan Gohil took on a high quality field in the 1500m finishing in 7th position with a time of 5.54.18m
Dhanusshan Ponnambalam continued his reliable form with throws of 12.07m in the Shot putt
21.17m in the javelin and an impressive Discus throw of 32.37m to earn a great second place. Dhanusshan’s reliable form in the field events has earned a great amount of points for the team this season
U18 Women
Eliora Arthur-Kennedy continues her recent improvement with a PB of 3.50m in long jump and runs of
13.54s for 100m and 28.81s for 200m
Marissa Osas-Bavis battled hamstring problems to record times of 27.50s in 200m and 75.15s before equalling her High jump PB of 1.35m. Despite her injuries Marissa earned valuable points for team
Star of the day Zahira Campbell-Thomas managed PBs in all of her throwing events as well as helping the 4 x 100m relay team to a brilliant 2nd place. Zahira recorded 9.65m for Shot putt and first place. Third place in Javelin with 17.51m and an excellent throw of 26,06m for another win in Discus
U18 Men
Leron Adjei completed his last EYAL competition with a brilliant sprint winning double in 100m and 200m clocking 11.57s and 23.30 respectively as well as helping the 4 x 100m relay team to a fantastic victory against very high quality opponents
Aron Berhe took on tough unfamiliar events for the sake of team points contributing an excellent judged 800m victory in a time of 2.09.98m . Aron went on to record 58.97s for 400m event and a PB of 26.52m in the javelin for a fine 4th place snd a successful day for Aron .
Luke Thake also took on tough unfamiliar events with a good win in his 800m group clocking 2.16.88m and fourth in his 400m in 60.44s . Luke also managed a throw of 5.53m in his Shot putt event for more valuable team points
Robert Stanciu continued his good form with a PB of 4.58.95m in the 1500m and a PB of 20,05m in the Discus. Robert complains busy day with a Shot putt distance of 6.60m
Brian Domfe-Bonsu completed the U18 events with two fine third place finishes in long jump and triple jump recording distances of 4.91m and 11.38m respectively
The U18M 4 x 100m relay team had the whole stadium cheering on their feet with a fantastic victory against very high quality opponents and it felt like a brilliant way to bring the curtain down on a record breaking EYAL season
