Ilford AC's ladies section enjoyed a very successful weekend. In Sunday's Southern Counties Vets AC championships the club's international super veteran Pam Jones took the gold in the womens  5000 metres over 60 category held at Battersea Park in a time of 24mins 06.6 secs. Pam also took gold in the 1500m in the same category with a time of 6mins 34.1 secs. 

 

On the road Sally Gillam ran exceptionally well in Friday's Springfield Striders 5 mile race. Sally ran a personal best clocking 36 mins and 59 secs. Not to be outdone teammate Nicola Hopkinson ran a perfectly paced race finishing as the top woman veteran in a time  of 35 mins 25 secs, only 20 seconds off her pb on an undulating course. The mens race saw Ilford's Malcolm Muir runninhg strongly for 4th place in 27.26 and Matt Maple 17th for an excellent 17th spot.

Martin Clarke completed the scorers in 35.26.
