  • Ilford AC's Iain Campbell ran a superb race in Sunday's Dunmow 5 mile road race finishing 2nd overall to Ty Berg from Mornington Chasers. On some tough climbs and strength sapping off road sections Campbell shared the lead until the 2 mile mark where  Berg opened up a 20 second gap which he maintained until the finish. Ilford's Terry Knightley (30.39) and Martin Clarke (31.33) completed the scorers for the squad narrowly missing out on the team prize to Spriingfield Striders.
In the women's race Ilford's squad of Cheryl Macdonald (38.04) Sally Gillam (38.48) and Pam Jones (39.06) placed highly.
Owen Phipps and Joan De'ath continued their return to the road race scene completing the course in 42.59 and 45.34 respectively.

  • Ilford's premier women triathlete Karen Sindall placed an encouraging 6th place in the elite ETU Prestige Race held in Zundert, Netherlands on Sunday.
